Oliver v. Kauffman, 18 F. Cas. 657 (C.C.E.D. Pa. 1850)

Cecilia Oliver, Ellen R. Oliver, Catharine Oliver, by their next friend Eli Stake (plaintiffs) against Daniel Kauffman, Stephen Weakley, and Phillip Breckbill (defendants) regarding their assistance in the escape and harboring of the enslaved persons of the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs were the children of Shadrach S. Oliver (deceased), and they gained control of his slaves upon his death. Decision: jury discharged.
