Commonwealth ex rel. Hall v. Cook, 1 Watts 155 (Pa. 1832)

James Taylor (plaintiff) against James Hasson (defendant) regarding Taylor’s status as an enslaved person in Pennsylvania, having been previously manumitted in Maryland and later sold in Pennsylvania. Taylor and Harriet Wilson, an enslaved woman, were previously enslaved by James Owens of Maryland and sold to James Hasson of Pennsylvania. Decision: judgement for defendant, judgement affirmed.
