Pennsylvania v. Blackmore, 1 Add. 284 (1796)

Pennsylvania against Aberilla Blackmore (defendant) regarding Cassandra and Lydia, enslaved women. Cassandra and Lydia were enslaved to Samuel Blackmore (deceased), husband of Aberilla Blackmore, who first enslaved the two women in Maryland, and then spent time working in both Pennsylvania and Maryland. Decision: enslaved women were freed.
