Force v. Haines, 17 N.J.L. 385 (1840)

Henry Force (plaintiff) against Elizabeth Haines (defendant) regarding Minna, an enslaved woman. Force sold Minna to Haines temporarily, but at the end of the agreed upon time frame Force refused to take her back, and Haines continued to pay for board and maintence of Minna. Decision: judgement for defendant.
