Wright v. Deacon, 5 Serg. & Rawle 62 (Pa. 1819)

Wright, also called Hall (plaintiff) against Deacon, keeper of the prison of Philadelphia, regarding a request to be released on the grounds of unlawful detention. Wright, a fugitive slave, was previously enslaved to Rasin Gale in Maryland, but was arrested and brought to court in Pennsylvania. Decision: writ quashed.
