In re Williams, 29 F. Cas. 1334 (E.D. Pa. 1839)

A case to determine whether the prisoner is William Stansbury (also called Isaac), a fugitive slave. Ruth Williams, and her grandson and power of attorney William H. Hall claimed that Stansbury was enslaved to William Williams (deceased), and became enslaved to his wife Ruth upon his death. Decision: prisoner discharged.
